The Royal Institution of Great Britain

- the scientific home of Michael Faraday - a long association with the Trust.

From the very first week that the educational value of the new British penny was appreciated in January 1993, members of the Trust have maintained strong links with The Royal Institution in London.

Along with Brunel University and the Institute of Physics, the RI continues to sponsor the Trust's Magic Penny Magic Kit and its accompanying booklet "Investigating Magnetism".

Many visits to the Institution in Albermarle Street, just off Piccadilly, have taken place and many discussions regarding magnetism held with members of RI staff.

In 1997 the Trust was particularly honoured by being invited by Professor Sir Arnold Wolfendale, the 14th Astronomer Royal, to provide the exhibition following his Friday Evening Discourse entitled "The search for extraterrestrial life and the future of life on earth".
